Aerodata Flight Deck Performance Validity

Hello,

I am wondering if any Aerodata FDP users can tell me if their operation imposes limits on FDP validity. For example, if a new ATIS is issued with a 3 degree increase in temperature, or a calm wind changes to a 5 knot tailwind, is a new ACARS FDP required by procedure?

The TLR (pre-filled paper performance solution that is generated hours ahead of time) does have listed validity limits: OAT must be less than or equal to planned assumed temperature and equal to or greater than planned OAT minus 10 degrees C; altimeter setting must be equal to or greater than planned altimter setting - 00.10" HG or 3.4 HPA. Additionally weight must be no greater than planned weight and no less than planned -180,000 lbs (for my operator/airframe).

However no such restriction exists on the ACARS FDP that I can find. Is FDP validity left to crew judgement at most operators, or are limits imposed? Are the TLR validity requirements equally applicable to the FDP? Thanks in advance.

My employer:

FCOM 1 :

FDP must be updated when:
  • A performance related DDG item is added or removed
  • There is a significant change in environmental conditions ( eg change of wind direction or speed, lower altimeter setting, higher temperature, runway surface conditions or contaminants)
  • Departure runway not shown on FDP or intersection departure is shorter than planned”
B2N2 is online now

Thanks. Our company version of the FCOM has no such wording. Good to know that others do.
