Pilots over 60 yrs

Quick question: are two pilots over 60 in the cockpit allowed under EASA-rules?
I've searched here and Googled it but couldn't find a certain answer.

Nope. For commercial flying that is.

EASA FCL.065

Did you have an interesting discussion with your colleague on the last flight?

https://www.icao.int/safety/aviation...%20Study_c.pdf

That was the case in 2006, but not since 2013.

Yes, see EASA FCL.065 at page 52 in the link below.

It should be alleviated https://www.easa.europa.eu/document-...arepresea20171

But maybe not before it's too late for some of us.

Not really. But I recently joined a company who (still) have this over-60 pairing restriction in their OM-A. I know this was initially the rule when the mandatory retirement age was increased to 65 from 60. I thought I heard this rule was changed but couldn't find it anywhere.

Thanks for the info guys. I'll let our Compliance manager know, see if he wants to change the book.

Ageism , sexism , religionism... descrimination

racialissmAgeism , sexism , religionism. racialism.. discrimination should not be allowed when hiring pilots unless future proper studies reveal that these classifications of pilots have significantly more accidents and/or bad airline decisions for their airline company.

Nice sentiment but this is ICAO's take on it a few years ago.

There is not yet the confidence in medical screening to go further.

I am a little sceptical of the way some of these data are presented - ie. do the statistics actually represent the dataset of pilots where ill health is a barrier to entry.
