B737NG ditching and gear???

The B737 QRH does not address the landing gear position in a ditching at all, but mentions twice to make sure that the autobrake is selected OFF.
Does anyone know why and what about the landing gear in the first place?
Ditch with it extended or retracted?

Thanks.

Our QRH has a 3 page checklist for ditching. Under "Ditching Final" one page 3, it states "LANDING GEAR lever ..............UP and OFF". So landing gear position is addressed. Can't answer your question about the autobrake.

Autobrake off to avoid aquaplaning.

I’ll get my coat.
