My understanding is that if the stab is drained then the feed line is drained too. This means the APU cannot be started as fuel from the L inner wing tank will not feed the APU until the APU feed offtake line is bled.

It was one of the gotchas they told us about during training, use the manual valve function with care.

I could be wrong though.
