Fwiw, in the late 70's Nav lights on meant aircrew on aircraft and anti cols just before turning and burning. Probably all changed now.

It's definitely an option on many aircraft.

Note that to power the nav lights, the towing bus requires an inverter to convert battery DC power to AC.

Perhaps on jets nav lights are AC powered, but on turboprops, lights are usually DC powered. Most notably though on the ATR, landing/taxi lights are AC powered.
