Braking Actions in Russia
Does Russia still use the normative (Russian) brake friction when reporting Snowtams, METARs for their airports? What about former Soviet (CIS) countries

forecast and also by eight-digit group or
in unencoded form in RMK group.
Note: * Recommended practices.
So you can meet any kind of runway state in weather reports

The AIP reference quoted above is for ICAO B.A. and f.c., as well as METARS. Basically anything that is published is ICAO.
Normative coefficients are long gone unless you operate in Russian language and you receive it over R/T.

Thank you guys, I have read Russian AIP, but according to my experience, runway state in weather reports is recorded in terms of russian normative coefficients at all russian airports except UUEE and UUDD. Any other experience?

FD, and yet a normative coefficient is still alive because all non-russian speaking operators have it as conversion to RBA according AIP table. The method of measuring is the same as in king zion time

Anvaldra: I'd agree with you about 5 years ago, but not since. I believe Many operators still have the metric FL conversion tables in the books, yet RF is hapilly running on feet RVSM for quite some time.
I admit not having found your AIP Appendix 3 reference inside the document online. There used to be a conversion table in AIP but not any more. ICAO differences GEN 1.7? Nope.
Actually the old table had columns for "normative" and "SFT" / BA. You could hear exactly that on ATIS UUEE - in EN .MM measured by SFT; in RU - "normatyvnyj" 0,NN.

The measuring of friction coefficient is still the essential criterion for any conversion whatever you hear in ATIS or see in METAR
