Dornier 328 JET

Has anyone had experience operating or opinions on the Dornier 328 Jet ?

This aircraft has come up a few times in evaluations for some client projects and I've always been reluctant to recommend going that way as one operator I know the with the turboprop 328 has had enormous problems getting parts for them.

Overall the design seems a good one.

Angel DO328Jet

Currently flying it in a **** hole in Africa..Good aircraft to fly, I think should be difficult for the operator given the availability of parts & service locations. Climbs like a space shuttle, cruises like a rickshaw...

Roomy cabin..quite .the VIP config is pretty impressive..still ERJ should be a better option..depends

What's the short field performance like ?

Do you get a lot of AOGs waiting for spares ?

short field is better than ERJ ..but it can't handle cross winds..limit is 24 kts but personally Im not taking it anything beyond 15-18...spares are okay..just not accessible.

Donier 328 Jets Operating in South Africa seem to adapt very well. Parts are at times a problem I believe. It ssems MPT Maintenance/Avex Air have gound parts base support. From my understanding this Jet flies every day of the week and had only 3 cancelled departures where by parts are hand carried from there supplier! 1 Jet delivered to a company in Angola and three more to go. A Jet had been delivered into Nigeria and two more to go.
