777 ball park figures and rules of thumb
I'm doing some powerpoint slides on ball park figures and rules of thumb used by 777 pilots during line ops.
Problem is I'm only a pilot trainee waiting for 777 sim training and have zero line experience.
As such, I've been desperately asking seniors I know who are on the 777, but so far the information gathered has been quite limited.
Would really like to appeal to the 777 pilots on this forum to share a pointer or two.

heres one
sit for max 20 min then go for a walk or stretch.
sitting on this seat is directly proportoinal to back problems.
boeing designed a great airplane but a seat that is rivalled in comfort only by a park bench.

max FL, and vref30 rule of thumb
Nice thread,
Here are mine, correct me if I'm wrong
B777-200
Max FL under all circumstances B772 rule of thumb FL600-GW, so weight 300 tons= max FL 300.
n-1 max FL rule of thumb FL450-GW, so weight 250tons, max n-1 FL200 drift down altitude
MAX TOW n-1 driftdown FL150 under most circumstances possible.
MAX TOW n-1 after take off climbing , max FL120.
go arround fuel 400kg till 1500ft
Vref30= GW/3 +66kts, so vref30 210 tons=210/3=70 +66+ 133kts..
Jettison time to standpipe level from full wing tanks and ctr tank less then 45 tons= arround 40 minutes.
Every 10 tons more in ctr tank= add 10 minutes.
who is next ?.....

You need to use at least the 3.3x table + 1nm/15kts for a still air descent, unless you're at Mmo/Vmo and/or very light.
Flight with unreliable airspeed: keep around 2.5degs between the FPV and the "airplane symbol" and you'll stabilise at a safe speed for whatever configuration you're in. Refine using the QRH figures once under control.
The FMC can sometimes come out with some very strange recommendations for cruising levels, often very low or very high. Once you're into the mid-to-late 30s, the payoffs for climbing are not that great, especially in the last few hours of flight.
Vnav descents at high altitude need watching if there's a significant change of wind component on the way down.
Probably the most important one!

For Christ sake guys, he wants "Ball Park" figures.
How the hell do you expect someone to work out half of those damm things while flying on one engine!!!!
Space cadets and rocket scientists, keep it simple.
