PART 135 Maintenance

Would much appreciate it if somebody could help this Brit find the section in FAR 135 that specifies that a 135 operation must have its aircraft maintained by a 145 approved maintenance facility.

Thanks

G

FAR 135 does not specify that aircraft operated in accordance with this FAR has to be maintained by a 145 maintenance organisation. Part 135 is an operational rule and the responsibilities for maintenance rest with the certificate holder as detailed in sub part J. The certificate holder can make arrangements with another organisation to perform the maintenance, including Part 145, however the certificate holder remains responsible and the work is to be performed in accordance with their manual and Part 135.

This string all falls within the companies GMM that needs FAA approval. Companies also need to create an approved vendor list to ensure the 145 has authorization from the FAA for the aircraft type.
