2 minutes longer per flight equals 800,000 euros annual saving.
Maybe they should stay up there all day, they would save a fortune.

Just back from a "zigzag" behind a B-line jumbolino; phhhh.... they are slow these days....and it has cost about 180 kgs extra fuel....ahhh, well, they saved 55,5 kgs...
This is what is called "harmonizing" the air...at least for Belgians!

Can an Avro fly any slower?
As flying spanner on a VVIP Andover CC2 (The HS748 series 2A - good old Avro again) on approach into LHR I recall a controller asking us to maintain 250 kts. Oh well, flaps and gear up again and throttles to the wall...
