2 minutes longer per flight equals 800,000 euros annual saving.
Maybe they should stay up there all day, they would save a fortune.
Don't you just love bean counters!!!:ugh:

Just back from a "zigzag" behind a B-line jumbolino; phhhh.... they are slow these days....and it has cost about 180 kgs extra fuel....ahhh, well, they saved 55,5 kgs...
This is what is called "harmonizing" the air...at least for Belgians!:yuk:

As flying spanner on a VVIP Andover CC2 (The HS748 series 2A - good old Avro again) on approach into LHR I recall a controller asking us to maintain 250 kts. Oh well, flaps and gear up again and throttles to the wall... :ooh:
