etops?

Hi,
I have read that in Australia they still use INTER in their TAF's .

I would like to Know how the FAA licenced pilot or JAA licenced pilot flying to Australia use the Australian TAF with INTER for a suitable aerodrome?

I have found nothing about it in the JAR OPS min 1.297 nor in the AMC 20 ?

Not 100% certain, but, a number of countries have state differances stated in Annex B of ICAO, that includes ATC Radio Telephony Procedures etc..

I know they are some differences,

But what i would like to know how do you interpret in ETOPS an INTER in the TAF for the sutability of the aerodrome .
how does the pilot from BA AA UA SQ EK are using INTER ?

You would have seen TEMPO on a UK Forecast.
Tempo a change for periods up to 60 minutes.
INTER is the same but for period up to 30 minutes.
Treat it as for Tempo but for 30 minutes.
So Divert or hold for 30 minutes.

hello W1 ,
I know that INTER is used to indicate changes expected to occur frequently and more or less continuously throughout for periods of less than 30 minutes in each instance and where the aggregate of the changes is expected to be less than half the total period indicated.
The problem is it is no more use since 2004 IN Europe or USA.
You are at the preperation of the flight how do you use your INTER for the suatibility of your airport in ETOPS ? according to which regulation ?

Both FARs and JARs under General Operating rules require any operator that is operating into a foreign state comply with the operating rules of that state or country that they are operating into. Therefore 30 min's hold required on a inter when operating into aussy. There MDAs and alternate requirements are based on Inter's.

Where can i find your rules concerning the uses of Inter and the fuel Policy ?

You can find the description of INTER and the fuel holding requirements in your Jeppesen white pages, AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL, page AUSTRALIA-15 (dated 28 Dec 07).

ETOPS

I have read in the jeppesen the ATC section who refer to http://www.casa.gov.au/download/caaps/ops/234_1.pdf .
This publication is only advisorybut it gives a CASA preferred
method for complying with the
Civil Aviation Regulations (CARs)
1988.
But it is a reference for :Who this CAAP applies to
This CAAP applies to all operators of Australian aircraft.

and it doesn't concern the ETOPS section .

So How does the American company or BA use INTER For their enroute alternate aerodrome ?
