Post US RVR Jepp Coding

Hi Folks,

Does anyone know how to de code some of the US RVR reqs on Jepps..
eg. RVR 6...or RVR 40 etc...

Add 2 zeros.....RVR 6 equals 600 or RVR 20 equals RVR 2000

RVR 6 equals 600 or RVR 20 equals RVR 2000
And in the US, that's Feet, not Meters.

The question was US RVR, not international. Jepp very clearly notes metric visibility values. That the US uses feet, shouldn't surprise anyone, we're out of touch in our little island of North America.

BTW, I instruct ANYONE flying overseas to get very familiar with metrics, and not just in a plane.

For interest some US operators with item like Head Up Displays and Forward looking infrared [FLIR] cameras have OpSpecs individually approved by the POI down to RVR 3

not sure who though
