Jump seat

Don't know if it is the right place for that question but here it is:
We are told by our airline that flying to and from the UK, we are not allowed to accept jumpseat in cockpit. Does that apply to other airlines? and from what official text is it from?
Thanks

We take additional crew members in both cockpit and cabin seats, they must disembark and board as passengers.

Understand that its due to immigration concerns.

Do they have to be in uniform? and would you take in the cockpit a ground staff?

Must be in uniform, must pay the $75 LHR departure tax. FAR121 more or less prohibits ground staff from cockpit jumpseats.

company flight deck can sit in the cockpit as long as in uniform - valid id and positioning on company business or going home.

As ground engineer, I regularly jumpseat in the cockpit. I have to pass customs like flight crew and have to have a special company ticket. My name is written on the aircraft trouble report. For the rest no problems. Uniform is not necessary, but opens a lot of gates.
