Question on ANM/Kgs

  • How will variations in C.G. position with authorized limits affect the fuel consumption in terms of ANM/Kg?

In general, a more rearward CG will improve efficiency with regards to fuel consumption. With a more rearward (aft) CG, the arm between the CG and center of pressure is shortened, and less tail-down-force is required. Less tail-down-force means less total force acting down; requiring less lift. And less lift is less drag, to put it in simple terms.
