Question The inside guts ...

... don't worry or panic! I am not asking about the guts of your mother/sister-in-law, but about VORs. . .. .Having seen them on the field in their different shapes and sizes and having crossed them at 41,000 feet, I haven't found anybody who is able to answer the question to how a VOR (Terminal, Low, High, Doppler, VORTAC, VOR/DME) "looks" from the inside.

Don't know, but I would gladly cut up my mother in law and have a look at her insides for you

7777, are you interested in the design of the VOR electronics or the physical contents of the little hut under the counterpoise? Can probably help out with both.

Actually, I am interested in both. The only thing I know about the VORs are the basics I learned during my nav classes (variphase, ref. signal et.)
