A fey years ago, i was reading a science mag on hols in USA (cant remeber which one). I read an article saying words to the effect that Boeing and McDonnel Douglas were working jointly on an "orient Express" a hypersonic aircraft that would be the longest ever built, travel to sydney in 3 hrs etc, etc. Does anyone know what happened to this project, or remeber the article? One distinctive thing i remeber about it was that it "will need exhaust silencers the size of a Winnebago". Any clues?
