Stansted Thread
Last night there was a KLM Cityhopper Foker at Sat 2. Pax disembarking around 21.30. Anyone know why it was there and what flight it was operating?
|
I believe the KLM was a Norwich diversion due to fog. An Eastern Saab2000 may also have diverted in last evening.
This morning it was also foggy across the eastern counties and STN got at least two diverts from Cambridge (HS-125 and Pa31). The YL- AN74 may also have been a Cambridge divert. Phil |
Stansted Questions
I see that there is an arrival tomorrow morning from Bermuda
FJE557 eta 0640, so looks like all still well with the new start up airline. Also there is a departure GSM271 etd 0700 to unknown-foreign-dest, anyone any idea ? |
Info needed
Can anyone in the know tell me what the following flight is,
GSM271 std 0700 / STN-YYY unknown-foreign destination showing on Stansted flight departures. |

I seem to remember someone on here talking about a new airline for STN called ISAIR or IZAIR, Today on STN arrivals there is flight IZM713/4
STA 1350 / STD 1450 Izmir-Stansted-Izmir, so has it started or just a special ? |
Yet again some odd flights at STN tomorrow,
XQ, GT, 7M, the flyjet Bermuba and the GSM unknown destination. |
Can anyone tell me where flt GSM271 is going or is planned on going,
from STN it was on the departure boards at STN yesterday and today as unknown destination ? |
Today there was a BAE 146 in full Swiss colours at Sat 2. Anyone know what flight is was doing?
Jack |
Don't know about the Swiss - they normally visit STN only in event of diverting from LCY.
XQ (Sun Express) starting 2 x weekly AYT in January The Flyjet Bermuda - no news Some of these unusual flights displayed may be due to season changeover where slots not taken up by respective operators have not been cleared from the schedule. Hopefully things will be sorted soon as it can sometimes be confusing. |
An-22 left Stansted today, any idea where it was off to and why?? Great too see.

Afriqiyah Airways A340-200 @ STN Today.
Evening All!;)
Just curious as to why an Afriqiyah Airways A340-200 paid us a welcome visit as London Stansted today:confused:  It Landed about midday and left around 2 hours later, im assuming it was a private flight as it was parked over the northside of the airport by Harrods and the Inflite jet centre. Made a nice change to catch an A340 at Stansted, i've only ever seen 4 in 4years working there!:D :D Any info would be welcomed. Matt:ok: |
A340 - Libyan Gvt perhaps?

Stansted Spotting Today
I have a few questions to ask so thought i would add them into 1 post.
I went spotting to STN today, and was thinking if anyone could help provide some answers to the following questions? 1. Over the north side on a remote stand was a 757 in jet2.com livery, does anyone know why that was over there? (reg G-LSAE) 2. Does anyone know if Ryanair are using Excel Airways 737-8's to help them out? 3. I was told today from a visitor to the Airport, that jet2.com were thinking of operating a flight or two from STN (i personally can't see this happening but any thoughts) Thanks in advance VFR |
VFR Transit
With the Channel Express Boeing 737 G-CELP being based at Stansted and they are part of Jet 2 this might be the connection.
The 737 does freighting at night but during the day would possible do flights under the Jet two banner. From what I have found out all the flights operate under an EXS callsign?? |
Just a few Jet2 Lapland charters to see Father Xmas for spoilt brats :suspect:
|
Jet2 B757s do visit on the odd occassion, but I think maintenance related. As mentioned the Jet2 737-300 (in Channex livery) does mail flights at night and occassional charters other times. Have heard that Jet2 may be looking at STN for B757 flights in future, but no other info.
Not aware that Excel 738-s are being used by Ryanair, last time this happened was March 2005. Earlier this year they used Futura 737-8s and 737-4s and occasionally Eirjet when their own crews/aircraft not available. |

Might have been the blue Cable and Wireless or Dreamliner livery ships you mistook for Excel as they have both been seen at STN in last few days.

The AN-22 is indeed back flying after a long heavy maintenance lay-off, and you can also see pretty regular An-12 movements in and out of STN.

747 at Stansted?
Hi Guys
Everytime I take a flight out of Stansted I see a white 747-400 with a green and red stripe on the tail parked next to Harrods Aviation. Does anyone know who it belongs to and what it does? Is it based at STN? Thanks :8:confused: |
That will be the ROYAL FLIGHT OMAN, you saw either the 747-400 (A40-OMN) or 747sp (A40-SO)this one is most recognisable for the hump on the top, but both are regular visitors to Stansted.

Stansted, Red Arrows Thursday 05th July
Hey all,
The Red Arrows will be flying one pass in fromation down the runway at Stansted, sometime in the Morning of Thursday 05th July 07. This is no hoax, I have it on absolute authority. Sorry I cannot give a time. Enjoy all. Punch:ouch: |
HZ-HA1 Gulfstream II with tip tanks
HZ-HA1 will be overnighting on Thursday, and leaving around 1030Z Friday July 6. Arriving from Jeddah via Nice, and departing Gander, Duluth, to Van Nuys.

STN Cancellations
The STN arrivals board is showing the following flights as being cancelled:
07:10E0002NEW YORK JFK CANCELLED 08:15MY100NEW YORK JFK CANCELLED 08:30 MY200WASHINGTON DUL CANCELLED Anyone know why both MAXjet and an Eos flight have been canx? Saying that there was a MAXjet flight op into MAN tonight (Thu) as MXJ930. |
Red Arrows STN.
Don't have an answer as to WHY the red arrows pass down the runway but Punch is'nt fibbing.
Around 2yrs ago they done it while i was on shift. First was a low pass over the runway in formation, followed by a tight turn around sat1/cargo apron then lining back up for a full stop landing on rwy23. They parked up over the north side for a while aswell. Was quite a sight.:D:D Regards.:ok: |
Maxjet
Maxjet had problems with charters they had been doing. Thats why the flights did not run as for EOS cant give an answer dont know why.
Plus a divert into Gander did not help them this week. |
MXJ930 went from MAN onto Nairobi.
Assuming it was a special charter of some description. Maybe it was for pax who are considered more important that running a scheduled service for a couple of days. Not quite sure why the aircraft wouldn't use STN, rather than MAN - unless it was payload/range related. |
Maxjet Charters
They have been running some adhoc charters yes. There have been parties and other events.
The charters sometimes make more money than useing the aircraft on its normal time table. But Gander has become a new Maxjet base after engine problems. Plus those who where at STN Sunday would have LTU operating AB's TXL. |
I was just wondering if anyone knows the reg of the current B738 operating for GSM from STN, because I am flying it early next month to TFS.
Thanks a lot SAM-EMA |
