Last night there was a KLM Cityhopper Foker at Sat 2. Pax disembarking around 21.30. Anyone know why it was there and what flight it was operating?

I believe the KLM was a Norwich diversion due to fog. An Eastern Saab2000 may also have diverted in last evening.

This morning it was also foggy across the eastern counties and STN got at least two diverts from Cambridge (HS-125 and Pa31). The YL- AN74 may also have been a Cambridge divert.

The arrival and the subsequent departure are both showing as cancelled today.

STA 1350 / STD 1450 Izmir-Stansted-Izmir, so has it started or just
a special ?

Don't know about the Swiss - they normally visit STN only in event of diverting from LCY.

XQ (Sun Express) starting 2 x weekly AYT in January
The Flyjet Bermuda - no news

Some of these unusual flights displayed may be due to season changeover where slots not taken up by respective operators have not been cleared from the schedule. Hopefully things will be sorted soon as it can sometimes be confusing.

Afriqiyah Airways A340-200 @ STN Today.

Evening All!

Just curious as to why an Afriqiyah Airways A340-200 paid us a welcome visit as London Stansted today

It Landed about midday and left around 2 hours later, im assuming it was a private flight as it was parked over the northside of the airport by Harrods and the Inflite jet centre.

Made a nice change to catch an A340 at Stansted, i've only ever seen 4 in 4years working there!

Any info would be welcomed.

Stansted Spotting Today

I have a few questions to ask so thought i would add them into 1 post.

I went spotting to STN today, and was thinking if anyone could help provide some answers to the following questions?

1. Over the north side on a remote stand was a 757 in jet2.com livery, does anyone know why that was over there? (reg G-LSAE)

2. Does anyone know if Ryanair are using Excel Airways 737-8's to help them out?

3. I was told today from a visitor to the Airport, that jet2.com were thinking of operating a flight or two from STN (i personally can't see this happening but any thoughts)

Thanks in advance

With the Channel Express Boeing 737 G-CELP being based at Stansted and they are part of Jet 2 this might be the connection.

The 737 does freighting at night but during the day would possible do flights under the Jet two banner.

From what I have found out all the flights operate under an EXS callsign??

Jet2 B757s do visit on the odd occassion, but I think maintenance related. As mentioned the Jet2 737-300 (in Channex livery) does mail flights at night and occassional charters other times. Have heard that Jet2 may be looking at STN for B757 flights in future, but no other info.

Not aware that Excel 738-s are being used by Ryanair, last time this happened was March 2005. Earlier this year they used Futura 737-8s and 737-4s and occasionally Eirjet when their own crews/aircraft not available.

The Excel 737-8 went over to the 60's on sat 3 of London STN which i really only used for Ryanair flights. i had worked their in ops for a period of time and have never seen other airlines use sat 3.

Anymore information?

Might have been the blue Cable and Wireless or Dreamliner livery ships you mistook for Excel as they have both been seen at STN in last few days.
