Yes, the An22 is back. Four engines but eight props.

The AN-22 is indeed back flying after a long heavy maintenance lay-off, and you can also see pretty regular An-12 movements in and out of STN.

747 at Stansted?

Hi Guys

Everytime I take a flight out of Stansted I see a white 747-400 with a green and red stripe on the tail parked next to Harrods Aviation. Does anyone know who it belongs to and what it does? Is it based at STN?

Thanks
:8:confused:

TUGNBAR 24th June 2007 20:08

That will be the ROYAL FLIGHT OMAN, you saw either the 747-400 (A40-OMN) or 747sp (A40-SO)this one is most recognisable for the hump on the top, but both are regular visitors to Stansted.

Stansted, Red Arrows Thursday 05th July

Hey all,

The Red Arrows will be flying one pass in fromation down the runway at Stansted, sometime in the Morning of Thursday 05th July 07.

This is no hoax, I have it on absolute authority.

Sorry I cannot give a time.

Enjoy all.

If you have it on absolute authority.......................For what reason are they doing it?

STN Cancellations

The STN arrivals board is showing the following flights as being cancelled:

07:10E0002NEW YORK JFK CANCELLED
08:15MY100NEW YORK JFK CANCELLED
08:30 MY200WASHINGTON DUL CANCELLED

Anyone know why both MAXjet and an Eos flight have been canx? Saying that there was a MAXjet flight op into MAN tonight (Thu) as MXJ930.

Matty J 7th July 2007 23:57

Red Arrows STN.

Don't have an answer as to WHY the red arrows pass down the runway but Punch is'nt fibbing.

Around 2yrs ago they done it while i was on shift. First was a low pass over the runway in formation, followed by a tight turn around sat1/cargo apron then lining back up for a full stop landing on rwy23. They parked up over the north side for a while aswell.

Was quite a sight.:D:D

Regards.:ok:

Mr Flaps 8th July 2007 09:45

Maxjet

Maxjet had problems with charters they had been doing. Thats why the flights did not run as for EOS cant give an answer dont know why.
Plus a divert into Gander did not help them this week.

AlphaWhiskyRomeo 8th July 2007 16:27

MXJ930 went from MAN onto Nairobi.

Assuming it was a special charter of some description.

Maybe it was for pax who are considered more important that running a scheduled service for a couple of days.

Not quite sure why the aircraft wouldn't use STN, rather than MAN - unless it was payload/range related.

Mr Flaps 9th July 2007 20:29

Maxjet Charters

They have been running some adhoc charters yes. There have been parties and other events.
The charters sometimes make more money than useing the aircraft on its normal time table. But Gander has become a new Maxjet base after engine problems.

Plus those who where at STN Sunday would have LTU operating AB's TXL.

SAM-EMA 22nd July 2007 10:37

I was just wondering if anyone knows the reg of the current B738 operating for GSM from STN, because I am flying it early next month to TFS.

Thanks a lot
