Delta L1011's

Strong rumour that Delta has sold all it's (VCV) parked L1011's

Assuming it's not the "Guvnor" wonder what the scoop is for these beasts!

Perhaps Delta's new low cost airline!
Sell them cheap to the new startup...

Gill Speed will only list when he gets the info.....

Several (L1011) bidders have been told they are sold and the aircraft are out of the market...

I don't know about the "GUV's" bids though!

Couldn't resist that one... sorry

I heard this about a month ago from some guys trying to buy some. I think they have been taken off the market rather than bought by an end user. Too cheap for the opposition. how much for a second hand 767 or 330???

Does anyone know if there is any way of finding out approximate values of the aircraft listed for sale on Speednews ?

Cheers

Gusty,
Sorry to sound cliche but they are worth what someone will pay !!

One of the problems is that if an aircraft in on someones books at $10m then while it is sitting parked it is theortically a $10m asset.
If the sell it for $5m ( which may be what it is worth) then they have lost $5m !
As ever in aviation, bean counters rule OK?

Three years ago it was said that somebody, probably ex FineAir, had purchased from the desert in fly-away condition one ex ALIA -500 (with engines) for $1.2 Million. The airplane was seen in a derelict state at MIA for many months, then stripped for parts, broken up and scrapped.
