Alan Ainsworth
Flight Engineer and Ground Instructor Alan Ainsworth passed away in the early hours of this morning. He died in the Isle of Man where he had been living after retiring from Manx, his last company. During a career spanning nearly 50 years he had worked for Lancashire Aircraft Company, Avro, Napier, TCA, CAE, Britannia, Transglobe, Monarch, Templewood, SIA, Air Malta, ICAO (and a few more).
His life was aviation
The Airline Industry has lost a real character
God bless

Alan did my ATP groundschool training in the I of M. Deaspite only a short time in the classroom with him, he was an excellent laugh and did the task with ease, making it even easier to get all the boring stuff out the way!

Very sad to hear of Alans passing
I was privileged to be lectured by Alan at London Guildhall University ground school. He had complete mastery of his material whilst retaining a mischevious manner. His teaching style was sheer entertainment whilst getting the subject matter across very effectively. Needless to say there was a peppering of great tales from the early years.
A truly top man.
