RAF E-3 has just done a touch and go at Gatwick! And an Irish AC AW139 has been along the Thames helilane.

E-3 lined up for another go at Gatters.

AWACS style aircraft, aka b707 look alike, just had two approaches to Manchester - apologies don’t know it’s proper designation 😀. Just checked an E3....

Same one that visited Gatters. I got a glimpse of him climbing into the haze as he passed Biggin. He's now lined up to land at Mildenhall.

French Transall just droned SE over Farnborough and Brighton, friend in Worthing heard its Tynes.

Three two-seat Spitfires about just now, G-CCCA out of Duxford, G-AVAV out of Biggin and G-ILDA from Goodwood. Sounds like a radio phone-in (imagine my best Tony Blackburn impresion) "...and here's Gilda from Goodwood... she's grrrrreattttt!"

Looks like a re-fueling exercise at the moment between a Voyager and Hercules off the Norfolk coast. Both came out of Brize Norton.
Edit. Hercules no longer visible on ADS-B.

In my quiet location near Saratoga County airport NY, where most traffic is Cessna 172 sized and a few bizjets, this morning was brightened, and the peace and quiet shattered, by an F-15 at around 4,000ft.... stayed local for 15 mins or so. A very rare sight.

Over Cheltenham (yesterday, late afternoon) - did I really see a Nasa WB57? If I didn't, what else could it have been?

It would have been one of the U-2s that have been based at Fairford for the last few months.

Of course, U2's nowadays have those (tanks - ?) on their wings, which these old eyes interpreted as engines. Thank you.

Strangley, I did note one of NASA's B-57s out of Mildenhall on ADSB several years ago - it routed via the Fairford area to Strumble.

Spitfires G-ILDA and the globetrotting G-IRTY have been very active from Goodwood today - G-ILDA appears to have done an approach into Gatwick at lunchtime. Vaguely recall seeing a Spitfire land on 08 at Gatwick many years ago when I was driving up to Charlwood from Lowfield Heath - probably G-ASJV/MH434.

Had a glimpse of G-AVAV getting airborne from Biggin this morning, unfortunately the Merlin was largely drowned out by the preceding Airvan until they turned towards Sevenoaks...
