ATDB reckons 392 currently stored, compared to 363 on that list.

It's a subscription site, alas, so I can't post a breakdown.

All the TUI MAX's are being maintained on a weekly schedule which includes electrical power up/hydraulics/engine runs at idle and moving them back and forth to rotate the tyres. That means all the ones at MAN/TFS/ARN etc

NO TRUTH whatsoever in the statement by Avgas Dinosaur

It's a designation for the option that was announced 5 years ago (before the Max even flew) for a high-capacity (197-seat) Max 8 with additional rear emergency exits.
Perhaps, "rebranding" was the wrong word to use, but tell me DRUK, if there had been no problems with the MAX do you think RYR would have marketed this 197 seater as the B737-8200? I very much doubt it. The MAX designation would have been kept!

Exactly , The first ones out of paint proudly displayed the B737-MAX logo.

You may well be right. Of course we'll never know now.

Certainly RYR would have marked the high-capacity aircraft differently from the 189-seaters, if only to help ground staff avoid embarrassing situations.
