Antonov 124 Kidderminster 2012

Captured a video of what appears to be an Antonov 124 flying reasonably low over Kidderminster back in 2012. It has always bugged me since as to what it was doing out here at this level? Maybe somebody here could help, or point me in the right direction?

Would post URL to video, but im a forum newbie Can find the video by searching "Antonov-124 Flypast Kidderminster" on Youtube, and its the first video.

Many thanks

Certainly looks like an AN124 - I know they have visited Brize Norton, and doubtless Birmingham too.

What direction was it flying in ? It sounded like it was heading towards a landing, but who knows. I'd second treadigraph's thoughts re BZZ or BHX.

Thank you for your replies.

It was heading directly South. It just seemed odd because we never get aircraft around here of that size, at what appears to be a relatively low altitude!

Then most likely positioning from MAN/BHX/Wherever to BZZ for it's next load and you had the luck to see it flying low!

AN124 one of few current types that has set wheels on the tarmac at BHX, their airport of choice in the Midlands is EMA where they are common as muck - have been for years now.

We occasionally find ourselves in Kidderminster underneath flightpaths for both Birmingham and Brize. Brize more often as a lot of inbound traffic seems to route Shawbury, Cheltenham, Brize, which puts them just West of Kiddy. The best one I ever had was a pair of B2s, inbound to FFD.
