Spectators Balcony (Spotters Corner) If you're not a professional pilot but want to discuss issues about the job, this is the best place to loiter. You won't be moved on by 'security' and there'll be plenty of experts to answer any questions.

If it's been impounded, it won't be going anywhere regardless of whether or not engineers are allowed to work on it.

Yes you are correct, but once it is released, it still wont be going anywhere because it has had no care of maintenance carried out on it.

G-ZBAH has gone further on to Victorville. Isn't this another aircraft Graveyard?

Yes this is, but also a good place to store a/c, unlike NQY.
It has a large maintenance facility which does care of maintenance along side other maintenance requirements. This is where Boeing have sent B787s in the past for modifications, some of the LOT B787s ended up having major Service Bulletin packages a few years back.

Yes and no, aircraft have been known to re-emerge from there after maintenance and/or painting, including a couple of BA examples.

But most aircraft that land there never depart again - I suspect that a 16-year-old, 45,000-hour A320 will be one of those.

Two A320ís on the main apron at PIK with tractors and snow ploughs blocking them in, always thought this was bizarre but is standard practice. Canít see a pilot risking his licence by nabbing one of them. Normally planes with a long term layover at PIK are parked on a remote stand. Must be keeping an eye on them on the apron.
