Could be they were on the phone to maintenance back at home base and trouble shooting? I would have thought a straight forward mid-flap landing at MAN should not have any performance problems for any a/c. 1 hour in the hold is only about 4000kgs fuel. I doubt landing weight would have been a problem.
SQK 7700 is not appropriate for such a scenario.

MAN 23L is grooved Marshall asphalt so has, in a/c performance terms, the equivalent of dry braking for calculating takeoff performance. Not that I support that notion.
The mention of dry in a previous post points to either the crew not knowing the runway is grooved or being ultra cautious about LDA for the config.

Possibly talking through scenarios with the techs to find a solution, rather han dump fuel?? They could have also took on extra fuel as weather wasn't that good over the UK yesterday, maybe they reacted to the possibility of storms forecast.
SV regularly tanker fuel (approx 35T) for the return trip. Therefore they needed to either lighten the load and or wait for the runway to dry. Their other option was a divert to somewhere dry.
They didn't dump.
Someone asked about flaps moving together. Well if they don't, then the pilots will get a Flap Assymetry EICAS message and the flap brakes will apply. No further flap movement will take place.
The system failed and the backup safety systems worked as advertised.

I know it was on the ground at MAN for over a week and may still be there.
Edit.
It is still at MAN, so must be costing them a small fortune.
