Goat around

October 15: A Bhutan Airlines Airbus A319 was on final approach to Kathmandu's runway 02 when a goat reached the runway prompting the crew to initiate a "goat around".

Preliminary investigation shows the goat came from the army battalion responsible for airport security.

Incident: Bhutan A319 at Kathmandu on Oct 15th 2016, goat around

If the crew had landed, they could have had the army battalion mascot, as an airline mascot! - or an Airbus mascot, at least!

Reminds me of YPCC, where they do a fast run with the airport utility (pickup), up and down the runway just prior to any takeoff, to scare off the roaming bantams! (the feathered variety, of course).

Mascot? It was quite possibly "dinner in waiting"!
