Thumbs up New Azores Airlines...amazing colours!

With a cachalot-whale painted all along the Fuselage, also celebrating its new brand, ex-Sata International, now Azores Airlines, and also welcoming its first 330-200, CS-TRY:

Non profit

I think you'll find that it's the Facebook page owner, Asas dos Açores (which seems to be just a Ponta Delgada-based spotter with delusions of grandeur) that's the non-profit entity, rather than the airline featured.

As the OP said, "Azores Airlines" is simply SATA International rebranded.

#SATA Internacional to restructure, rebrand as #Azores Airlines

As a proud Azorean... I have to say that is terrible. Words cannot describe how ugly that is.

Azorean people are old school as well. They are going to laugh their asses off when this goes mainstream. The old logo is a goshawk. To Azorean people it flies a plane flies, the colors of the national flag.

They are going to see a whale on the plane they are going to laugh their asses off. Expect many jokes.

It could have been this with just the name change:

You mean passengers on the re-branded carrier aren't going to have a whale of a time?
