Air Berlin Dash 8 runway excursion at Gdansk, Poland

An Air Berlin Dash 8 (D-ABQI)has skidded off the runway at Gdansk Airport after an emergency landing due to an engine failure.

Air Berlin flight AB8483 had an engine failure on take off from Gdansk, destination Berlin-Tegel, declared emergency and landed again (on one engine). All 56 passengers are safe

At the moment it is heavy snowing at the airport.

Good grief! Is having a runway excursion the latest must have fashion? There seems to have been a spate of them recently.* On the serious side, I'm pleased all are safe.
*Yes I do know the events are unrelated and have differing circumstances and I would far sooner see four runway excursions where nobody is hurt than four fatal crashes.

Any more news on this one - was it really a runway "excursion" or poor translation?
