‘Full emergency’ at Ronaldsway - Isle of Man News - Isle of Man Today
:: Manx Radio :: The Isle of Man's Premier Radio Station ::
Manx2 Airborne return engine shutdown.
A LET410, Manx2, had an in flight shut down due low oil pressure in one engine, aircraft landed safely and pax transfered to stand-by a/c to continue their journey. One elderly pax needed follow up treatment due delayed shock
Good job done in my opinion by the crew, s/e approach in a light twin, not the easiest thing in the world. I get to practise this scenario regularly in a sim, and never had to do it for real, not sure these guys get sim practice! Well done.

‘Full emergency’ at Ronaldsway
Published on Thursday 18 October 2012 15:52
THERE was a full emergency at Isle of Man Airport this afternoon (Thursday) when a Manx2.com flight reported it had lost oil pressure after take-off.
The 2pm service landed back at Ronaldsway at 2.27pm with its right hand engine switched off.
Eight passengers and two crew were on board.
A Manx2.com spokesman said: ‘After take-off on the Isle of Man to Newcastle flight today, the crew of the Van Air Europe Let410 operating the service on behalf of Manx2.com, noticed a gauge fluctuation and shut down the right hand engine as a precaution.
‘The aircraft returned to the Isle of Man and landed safely with passengers transferred to a standby aircraft, which then operated the service.’
Shortly before the flight landed back at Ronaldsway, an Isle of Man Fire and Rescue spokesman said it was ‘presently responding to a full emergency at Ronaldsway Airport.’
Half an hour later it was reported ‘the plane has landed safely and Fire and Rescue vehicles are now standing down’.

Emergency call-out at Ronaldsway
Published online at 18/10/2012 15:52:08
There was a full precautionary emergency call out at Ronaldsway airport this afternoon (Thurs)
It came around 2.15pm after the crew of a Van Air Europe Let410 aircraft, flying to Newcastle on behalf of Manx2.com, noticed a fluctuation on a cockpit gauge and shut down the right hand engine as a precaution.
It's understood the problem was connected with engine oil pressure.
The aircraft had to return to the Island and landed safely around 2.30pm. Emergency services stood down a short time later.
Passengers were transferred to a standby aircraft which operated the service to Newcastle.

Back in the dim and distant past (2002) when I helped PP Pop moderate this forum I started similar threads to 'collect' all those sort of posts.
