Well Boeing and Airbus do not want to deal with him now, so his options are limited.

Think they don't mind dealing with him, just that Airbus having publically announced that they didn't want to sell him aircraft for silly money, rather took the wind out of his usual "school of hard knocks" negotiating tactics.
I am sure either manufacturer would be more than happy to do a deal, but this time at the "right price" for THEM , not him.
Think he is too involved with Boeing to make a 2nd type work, extra uneeded costs/complexity (God knows what Norwegian are thinking about ? ) & Seattle know it, hence their tough stance this time around.
Of course, he may have looked at the current European "situation" & decided he actually doesn't want to expand any more, & Boeing are giving him the opportunity to do it without losing face.
The real test of the Ryanair business model will be when expansion stops. . . no more half price Boeings which can be sold at (or close to ? ) full whack, therefore filling up the bank with loads of cash. It could all yet implode horribly, I really wonder what Norwegian are seeing in the future to inspire such huge growth, maybe they could share their theories with the politicians/bankers.

With their current expansion reaching saturation in many countries, a sub fleet would allow them expand further into the regions, lower operating and landing costs, increase frequencies on existing or peripheral routes, increase year round routes and take on competition where they currently can't compete with more efficient aircraft (such as BE in the UK).

In all the talk about a sub fleet I rarely hear mention of the CSeries which would seem like an ideal fit to me (if they see it as financially viable to ditch the fleet commonality pillar of the low cost model).

- Not too low capacity at 130-145 seats (scope for the low cost fares)
- Comfortable modern cabin with attractive pax seating options (80% window/aisle, wider middle seat)
- Great short field performance
- Large overhead bins for the cabin baggage FR love
- What should be class leading fuel economy
- Manufacturer need of a major launch customer
- Irish connection (Belfast wing production)

Though publicly FR have been talking for the need of a new 200 seat jet.

I doubt that the fact that C-Series wings are built in Belfast would have any influence on Ryanair whatsoever.

All the public information in recent months is that Ryanair have been talking to the Chinese about the COMAC C919 - "no rumour" involved.
