BA Parking @ Heahrow

Hey Guys

This morning (05/01/2012 @ 06:50 local time) when I landed at Heathrow there were a few British Airways A/C - Airbus A320 Family parked in stands 109 - 188 (the very northern gates at Terminal 1). The airport diagram i'm refering to is; http://www.ead.eurocontrol.int/eadba...2011-10-20.pdf

Why would BA be parked there, they have their own Terminal; T5 . . . is it to do with there purchase of BMI? As a result BA is operating out of some BMI gates?

BA operate some flights from T3 and then coach passengers to the stands in the NW of T1. Stands 188, 190, 192L, 192R.

I agree with Gonzo. I have flown BA from Gibraltar to LHR on a number of occassions and we have always taxied in to stands such as 192 and then been bussed to T3.

When BA moved some the last of their short haul out of T1 into T3 when there was not enough room at T5, they agreed to bus from T3. Does anyone know why?

Now oddly enough the same aircraft used to board from the same stands from T1 not so long ago....
Stands 186 / 188 / 192L / 192R on Pier 4A are the stands used as well as the adjacent 350s. The air-bridges on the pier for those stands have been removed so one can't access T1 from there except via the apron.
