Apart from Concorde does anyone know which was the fastest of the sub sonic passenger Jets. I seem to remember reading that the Convair CV990 was up there and possibly the VC10. Am I right.
The latest Gulfstream bizjet (sorry, forgot the model number) can reach Mach 0.995 when running flat-out. But does it count as a "passenger jet" if it's so tiny?

Blimey!!

unfortunately unless you can manage the cruise in a permanent dive .995 isn't obtainable, as this speed was only met when in the test program during a high speed dive.

High speed cruise will be .90 and max cruise will be .925.

Normal cruise will be a much more mundane .85

But M 0.925 is still faster than the Convair jet, isn't it?
