M-fahd B727

Was surprised to see this in Beirut, is it the "only' European registered VIP B727?

I see what you're asking...I think the aircraft concerned passed under us recently in Maastricht airspace, as far as I recall the callsign they were using was, perhaps unsurprisingly "Mike Foxtroxt Alpha Hotel Delta".

tried Airframes.org nothing , Libhome had just the Callsign

so what i need is does it use a fixed flightnumber and what 3 letter ICAO is it operating with

James... If it's a privately owned aircraft it doesn't need to have such a code, or flight number. "M-FAHD" is perfectly sufficient.

I passed M-FAHD this morning on my way to the office, it is currently sat on the apron at Doha (OTBD) outside the Amiri hangar.

Not sure where your link to Harrods is, as it is now owned by Qatar Holdings. I presume you referring to its former owner Mr M. al Fayed.

Harrods (when owned by Mr al Fayed) have generally registered their aircraft on the UK register.

A potted history of the 727's history can be found here, which shows no obvious links to Harrods.

"Not sure where your link to Harrods is,"

It's vaguely phonetic....... M-FAHD

Mohammed Fayed the 'al' was added by himself and is a title like being Knighted without the visit to Buckingham Palace!

Smile M-FAHD

You can find details of the Manx registration and Mode S Code on the Manx Aircraft Register website - M-FAHD is No 183 on the Register.

Best way to access that, though, is through Jon Wornham's excellent Manx Aviation Info website because then you get some superb photos of visitors to, and residents of, Ronaldsway! Once you've enjoyed the photos, there is a link to the Aircraft Register on the front page of his website.

Enjoy it all!
