If the jet flies from Malaga to Gib will it have to land at Faro or Tangiers first, or are the Spanish more flexible nowadays when it comes to flight into/out of Gib?

Yes but what P6 was getting at was the Spanish childishly didn't used to allow flights to go direct from Spanish Territory to Gib; have they relaxed that rule?

easy...

Destination FAO.. Alternate Gib
A nice try, but the Spanish ATC used to see right through that one!

The rule that Chevvron kindly explained (and with hindsight, I should have done in my first post...) used to be very rigidly enforced for both civil and military aircraft, but it's a few years since I was familiar with them, hence my question.

No longer an issue, you can divert to AGP and then operate AGP-GIB when weather improves.
