Anyone have any info on 2 Lockheed L1011 aircraft supposedly parked in Tehran
At the completion of a Libyan Arab Airlines lease contract early 2006, both aircraft ferried to THR for storage. Both aircraft require heavy checks prior to return to service...which is not at all likely.
NB.
During the one year lease to LAA, both aircraft had a dispatch rate of 100%, much to the surprise of LAA management, who were having their own problems at the time with two A300-600 parked most of the time due mx issues.
This program was generally called...'TriStars to the rescue due AOG Airbii.'

Just a rumour/comment remembered form the late 70's when AC were operating Tristars to LHR, that they were close to max range, and RR engines were hot on arrival.
