Fly Past

When I have been at home, I have seen a Spitfire fly along the runway at Biggin Hill on the 11th hour, 11th day of the 11th Month.

I do not know if this event will take place year.

Anyone give a yes or no for tomorrow.

I can understand the concerns, but I would suggest, humbly, we all be a bit more jovial about life.

When I was a little boy a WWII ex-RAF Squadron Leader Lancaster skipper was standing smartly to attention (in a WWII uniform, but very post-WWII body) at the village war memorial (at 10:59) when the church bell struck. The assembled company stood to attention in total perfect silence.

About a minute in a light aircraft passed overhead at about 1,000 feet. Nobody stirred until the S/L looked up, looked down and said "Don't worry chaps, it's one of ours".

Not sure anyone made the full two minutes without laughing

Dont worry, my sense of humour is intact, was just put off by the somewhat unapologetic nature attitude of the Sqr Ldr at Northholt, "Sorry" does indeed seem to be the hardest word....!!!

So it's B Flight of 32 Sqdn then. Still a tactless incursion I would have thought.
There are 3 Agusta Westland AW109E's (phew, not FW190's!) and I had hoped someone had the wit to register G-ERII for one!
