Hummingbirds 'faster than jets", per BBC
"Hummingbirds 'faster than jets" is title of article in BBC news today. Speeds of almost 400 body lengths per second.

Seems that the speed is amazing!

Seems that a small bird can outperform a large bird; analagous to a small aircraft reaching greater speed and manuverability than a large aircraft.

When you think about it, the flying performance of birds is incredible by the standards of today's aircraft.

Independent says hummingbird pulls 9 G's
Independent newspaper on same subject says hummingbird pulls 9 G's when it pulls out of it's dive.
