Monarch 767 gear down EGCC
Saw a Monarch 76 going overhead today, high thrust setting, quite low for the departure track but climbing, with what appeared to be the gear down. Seemed unusual seeing it from my position in this configuration. I'm about 10km NW of the airfield, pretty much mid point RH D/W RWY23. Any thoughts?

Sometimes, if there a brake deactivated, the minimum equipment list (MEL) will have an operational procedure to leave the landing gear down for a couple of minutes after takeoff to ensure that the brakes are cooled by the airflow before being retracted into the gear wells. With a brake not working, the other brakes (seven on a 767) might get hotter during a long taxi, particularly in hot weather.
Perhaps this is what you saw.

Think there was another post somewhere about a MON A300 suffering gear retraction problems out of LGW, after maintenance on it to repair a similar problem the day before did not seem to have worked.
Wonder if this was the same a/c?
