Question The American Flag

I know I'm gonna sound like an anorak , but.......
given the American's regard for their national flag, I've been surprised to see recently two B747s (Polar Air Cargo & Atlas) with the flag the wrong way round on the starboard side of the fuselage (i.e. blue stars on rhs). Is this common, or has someone screwed up big-time ?

Wink

The flag is painted in the reverse on the RHS of the aircraft to simulate that it is flying with the prevailing wind ie from the front end of an aircraft. So when you look at the flag on the LHS of an aircraft everything looks fine and the flag pole if there was one.... would be at the forward section of the flag LHS.
