I'd stay clear of the PostHouse Forte! . .. .It's a bit like sleeping in a 90 bedroom council house and the fire alarm keeps going off.. .. .Handy for the airport.. .. .MP <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" />

The Travel Inn (not 4 star, but very comfortable, good grub and very good value for money - always booked up a long way in advance), The Holiday Inn Express, (as already posted - avoid the old Posthouse - now the Holiday Inn), the Stakis (possibly now a Hilton), and there's a new one being built, but I can't remember what it is, (no - it's not the new multi storey car park <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> ).

Plenty of hotels IN Glasgow with transport to the airport. . .Moat House.. .Hilton.. .One Devonshire Gardens. (If you don't mind paying pop star prices!!!) <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="biggrin.gif" /> . .To name but a few!. .Eff Oh.

320Driver. .Most of the Airlines stopping @ EDI use the Holiday Inn nee Posthouse so you should be able to share a drink.. .BA use the Holiday inn Crown Plaza for the Girls and i think Thistle for the Nigels.

Airport Hotel - Glasgow
Now this is an interesting subject - the most popular hotel has always been the Holiday Inn (formerly the Post House formerly the Excelsior) - choice of times to stay and rooms are critical :
1. In the summer they operate a "stay&fly" which means it is impssible to park
2.Always ask for a Superior room but beware that you don't get the 2nd half of a family room since the "double" bed is impossible for two people to sleep in !
3. Always check ur bills even if u have used the minibar
4. Phone calls are bl**dy expensive especially if using the modems
The Glynhill should be avoided especially at weekends due to the high proliferation of weddings held there and consequent door banging and running up and down corridors that goes on !
The new hotel on the airport is the Ramada which is set to open during the summer 2002.

Well, as someone from Glasgow, I would suggest that you look at statying at one of the many hotels in the City Centre. There are some really nice hotels and you will find a variety of pubs, clubs and restruants within easy walking distance of them.
The travelling time from the Airport to the City Centre is approx 15 to 20 minutes (can be worse depending on time of day etc).
Now, without making this sound like and advert and getting shot by the moderators (sorry guys), the best thing to do is to phone a private hire taxi company and get them to pick you up at the airport and have them take you back from Glasgow to the airport. You can easily save around 7 pounds each way by doing this.
Fair to/fm airport with a company that I know (I am the manger) is only £10 but, I will say that the majority of companies charge the same.
As someone who has spent the last five years travelling all over the place, the last thing I wanted was to be dumped in a hotel with nothing but a very exspensive bar and resturant.
Thats about it folks. Sorry if anyone thinks this is an advert trying to make sure it does not sound like one.
