Well, as someone from Glasgow, I would suggest that you look at statying at one of the many hotels in the City Centre. There are some really nice hotels and you will find a variety of pubs, clubs and restruants within easy walking distance of them.
The travelling time from the Airport to the City Centre is approx 15 to 20 minutes (can be worse depending on time of day etc).
Now, without making this sound like and advert and getting shot by the moderators (sorry guys), the best thing to do is to phone a private hire taxi company and get them to pick you up at the airport and have them take you back from Glasgow to the airport. You can easily save around 7 pounds each way by doing this.
Fair to/fm airport with a company that I know (I am the manger) is only £10 but, I will say that the majority of companies charge the same.
As someone who has spent the last five years travelling all over the place, the last thing I wanted was to be dumped in a hotel with nothing but a very exspensive bar and resturant.
Thats about it folks. Sorry if anyone thinks this is an advert trying to make sure it does not sound like one.

ps If you are a coach potatoe within the City Centre there are two major cinema complexes (5 and 14 screens) within two blocks of at least three major hotels.
