Refuelling in icy conditions
At DUB thursday :
Dozens of flights at Dublin Airport were either cancelled or delayed after icy conditions left aircrafts unable to refuel.
My questions : why are aircraft unable to refuel in icy conditions ?

Having refuelled in conditions down to far colder than DUB ever gets, I would say that it is a local problem. Canada in the winter is pretty extreme! Maybe the ramp is slippery in the extreme with smooth ice and the truck cannot safely approach. Maybe the hydrant cover is frozen solid? Fuel trucks unable to move? But the aircraft can refuel- the problem is obviously outside the aircraft.
We have to face that we don't get this sort of weather more than a couple of times in a decade, at most, for a few days only. It is better to take the disruption than equip like a Canadian airport at enormous expense.
