Post Air Canada flight deck

I will be flying CDG to YYZ on Air Canada 881 on Jul 21st, with a confirmed booking.

I have a lot of jumpseating experience (both personal and professional) but mostly on European carriers. I think I remember seeing some years ago on this forum that it was possible to be on the flight deck as a guest on Canadian-registered aircraft as well, unlike US ones (without an FAA licence or cockpit pass, that is). Could anyone please confirm this?

Also, would any of you know of a contact in AC I could possibly get in touch with before the flight, with a view to leaving word with the crew that I'll be onboard and with an interest in meeting them?

My thanks in advance for your replies.

Unless the situation has changed recently, there aren't any Transport Canada regulations, or Air Canada policies, prohibiting flight deck visits.

I think the best thing to do is to pass a note to the Captain when you are on board. As far as I know its up to the Captain whether he wants to allow visitors. The last two times I flew Air Canada the flight crew let me stay once for departure and once for landing. I'm pretty sure there are no restrictions for flight deck visits with Transport Canada. Good luck!
