Vulcan Flypast - Wyton 4 Sep

The PR Spitfire wired Wyton at 1800 tonight -a number of passes with the Griffin growling away in usual fashion.

Then the old lady looked magnificent (1915) as she flew past (BoB cocktail party?). She did several runs, including a short climbout on full power (oh! that howl!). Many in the village stood and watched. Setting sun caught her a number of times - glorious.

Well done to all the guys - air and ground.

I was stood, with quite a few others, on the verge just down from the roundabout near the 09 threshold. After that full power climb out there was smiling faces all round!

Fantastic to see her flying.

A few shots after a desperate dash over there:

Finally a composite image to show what could've been achieved if they'd turned up a couple of minutes earlier and pointed her in the direction of the right bit of sky

Boooger!

Re Vulcan

You cannot post Vulcan Photos like that on PPRUNE , you are contributing to mass screen image burn in across the globe - starting with me. (Superb. particularly the last one Vulc in the Sunset or is it escaping from a different thermo nuclear device.)

Yes.the last picture is great, but it is NOT a photo. It is a COMPOSITE. i.e. the camera does lie,but the computer work on it was very good tho.' At least Karl owns up to doctoring it.

Karl, those are beautiful! Absolutely gorgeous. :-)

And I don't care a jot if they've been doctored or not.

:-)

We had the pleasure of seeing the Vulcan flying quite low and slow over Staffordshire on Sunday 8th September around 4pm local.

Would be interested to know where it was groing from/to. My travelling buddy loved the filth coming from the engines - first time he'd seen one in the air.

Vulcan on Sunday 8th

The Vulcan on Sunday 8th was on its way to Southport Airshow. It did a short but great display there about 1620 before going south low level via a low pass on 09 at LPL.

Nice to se it in the air at last
