A380 at Wirral Show.

Just been lucky enough to have my first sighting of the A380
at the Wirral Show. It approched flying north down the Mersey,
turned over New Brighton and proceeded to give a spectacular
demonstration at low speed in front of the show area. We are
used to seeing aerobatics at the show but I did not think that
this plane could do so much. The pilot deserves a pat on the back.

I agree Wally. Those high alphas and wing overs were something I hadn't expected. It was an incredible display by any standards. A credit to the crew and the aircraft.

Just watched it to, fantastic display from such bulk, like a sumo doing ballet! The strong winds added to the general handling display giving the a/c a slow ground speed very impressive and at least 60deg AOB in a couple of turns. Certainly beats the grob tutour we got last year!

Fantastic aircraft and dispay!
Recently the air show side of the Wirral show has been a bit rubbish but they did well getting this one sorted

Jumbo, I've taken plenty of piccies and a couple of vids. Will upload them somewhere soon. Very windy here tho so the videos are a bit wobbly

Anyway, time to build the little model 380 I got from the airbus tent

Excellent pics and video, thanks for posting them. Being from the Wirral but living away now, I was pleased to learn it was doing a flypast at the Wirral Show.

It is the very same plane that I went on when it arrived at Heathrow for the first time a while ago. http://www.pprune.org/forums/jet-bla...ml#post2598884

It was doing the very same thing over Sussex at the Goodwood Festival of Speed at about 1230! Fantastic - I only went for the cars so this was a bonus...

Managed to run off a few shots with my long lens too. Really pleased with the one emerging from the clouds when the aircraft was heading home.

I can't help thinking whatever they give us after the A380 will be a let down - unless of course we get the Vulcan
