Jetstream / UFO programme

I have just seen the beginning of one the repeats of the "UFO" series.

There is a shot with a Jetstream landing at Radlett? (Pictures of Handley Page Hangers in background). The Jetstream is in some form of US military livery but seems to have 3 bladed props but not the Astazou engine?

Did HP ever try for an American US Airforce contract?

Any comments?

Orginals flew with the Astazou XIV engine........then the Garrett TPE 331 was fitted after the USAF ordered 11 - the C10A. The USAF cancelled the order, poss around the time HP were going down the tubes. So it is possible a airframe was painted up for PR reasons, etc

AFAIK, the "original" Airfix kit was a USAF Jetstream.......workth a few bob now....

Blimey, good memory Chiglet, I knew I'd seen a pic of a USAF C-10A somewhere - of course, the old Airfix box lid.
