Malta (Luqa) Training?
Bit of a long shot that anyone will see this, but......
Around 11:00 this morning (local time), we saw a 737-sized aircraft execute what appeared to be a go around. It then executed a fairly tight turn (visual?) and lined up for a second approach. Then another go around and then several more......
Far more likely to be a training flight whilst the airport was quiet. Is that what it was?
Perhaps a fairly normal occurrence, but it looked fairly spectacular because from where we were standing, we could see the whole movement - not loding sight of the aircraft at all.
Thanks

Malta (LMML) has been a favourite for base training with ex-Swissair and Lufthansa among others, with types ranging from Fokker 100 to B747.
I think Swiss were there recently with a A320 for training which is what you might have seen. Additionally, the local airline, Air Malta also conducts its base training in Malta!

Luqa
Watching the B52 take off 2 years ago was really really impressive.
I've had it a few times, when a southerly departure is being used, the
rather spectacular sight of being overtaken by a plane on it's
take off roll whilst driving the Zurriq road past Air Products.
