Having flown Ryanair yesterday and read their magazine, I would guess that it's to do with their on-time performance figures. They seemed impressive to me although I can't remember exactly what they were but I'm sure the website would tell you!
Mind you, it's not hard to be on time when for instance, the flight I took yesterday was scheduled for two and a quarter hours, when in my experience it's always been well under 2!
Most frightening for all "National" flag carriers are the figures for lost bags. Ryanair seem to "lose" 0.15% while many of the others lose between 10 and 15%, although that might have more to do with the fact that Ryanair actively try to dissuade people from travelling with hold luggage.
